In the surprise-hit first movie Nicholas Cage’s character, Benjamin Franklin Gates, speaks about the importance of objects and protecting and sharing them.  His primary motivation for stealing the Declaration of Independence is not to read the map on the back but to keep the villain from destroying it in his attempt to read the map.  Once he has it, of course, he does reveal the map believing that the only way to stop the bad guys is to get to the treasure first.  Once the treasure is found he claims none of it for himself saying that “it belongs to the world.”  These are important ideals that should be recognized and understood by the public.
