At the Museum of Missing History we are as inspired by Hollywood treasure hunters and fictional history detectives as you are.  Even knowing that much of the history that these entertainments serve up is highly fictionalized and that the characters’ research and collection techniques are shoddy doesn’t keep us from buying in. 

And it is good to note that many of the historians and archeologists portrayed in these movies have their heart in the right place.  They respect objects for their historical, cultural, and educational value over their monetary value.  For these characters the history and its lessons are the ends.
